Subspecialty Trainee in Materno-Fetal Medicine

Job summary

This is a two year post based at King's College Hospital and the Harris Birth right Research Centre for Fetal Medicine and under the supervision of Dr Nick Kametas

The post can be extended to three years if the candidate has not had appropriate research experience.

All Fetal medicine training will take place at the Harris Birthright under the direct supervision of Dr Kametas, Professor Nicolaides or the other fetal medicine consultants.

Maternal medicine training will take place through specialist Medical and Obstetric clinics. Genetics clinics are held at the Harris Birthright on a weekly basis and are under the supervision of Dr Tessa Homfray.

The post has a requirement of alternate week cover for a 12-hour day on labour ward and, in addition to this, participation in the ST6/7 rota on a 1 in 10 basis with prospective cover for both LW days and on-call.

Main duties of the job

The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and well being and that of work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital, in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with this post.
