Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join the Clinical Trial Pharmacy team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for implementing departmental Standard Operating Procedures for the safe dispensing of Clinical Trial drugs in accordance with company protocols and agreed standards that have an impact within Clinical Trials.

To contribute to and review wider policies that have an impact within the Pharmacy department and across the Trust

To propose changes to working practices and dispensing techniques that will maximise the potential for efficiency and safety

To be responsible for the training and supervision of staff working in the Clinical Trials.

To be responsible for the audit and management the clinical trial folders (delegating where appropriate) with the aid of an in house monitoring system.

Be able act independently in following departmental SOPs. Dispense and check medication accurately and be able to decide when it is necessary to refer

Be responsible for the safe dispensing and return of IMP for Clinical Trials in accordance with agreed Standard Operating Procedures and for developing those procedures as necessary.

Ensure that all pharmacy staff (including staff participating in the on-call service) work within the stipulated Standard Operating procedures.

Ensure all staff carry out their duties within current legislation and within the guidelines for Good Clinical Research Practice (GCP) in relation to Clinical Trials
