Job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated individual to lead a team of nurses and ophthalmic technicians to deliver high standards of care and experience for patients attending a busy Ophthalmic Outpatient Service based at Denmark Hill.

You will bring with you a proven track record of managing people, have substantial experience in a similar clinical environment and possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills in order to provide excellent leadership. This is exciting times as we strengthen and develop our workforce to provide specialist knowledge, skills, interventions and implement new ways of working for continued quality improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior nurse to advance their existing knowledge and skills, as well as being an excellent managerial learning opportunity.

The service is operational 7 days week, and the successful candidate would be expected to work flexibly. Informal visits or conversations are strongly encouraged.

Main duties of the job

Responsibility and accountability for operational management, ensuring delivery and evidencing of high quality and efficient outpatient services.

The post holder is responsible for ophthalmic nursing services ensuring an efficient and effective day-to-day running of the service delivering safe, quality and effective services alongside key quality, performance and financial plans.

The post holder will be responsible for the development and provision of services, based on a model of continuous quality improvement and patient engagement.

The post holder is expected to ensure excellent clinical engagement and communication with all stakeholders for the delivery of high quality services.

The post holder will additionally take the delegated responsibility within outpatient services for: Clinical governance & risk Information, including performance data collection, analysis and reporting Budget management Service Improvement Recruitment Roster and allocation planning and implementation Sickness and performance management
