Clinical Research Fellow in Epilepsy

Job summary

We are looking for the post of aST1/ST2 level clinician to work for 3 months at the Centre for Epilepsy/ Department of Clinical Neurophysiology under the Supervision of Dr Ioannis Stavropoulos (Consultant Neurophysiologist/Neurologist) and Dr Lina Nashef (Consultant Neurologist). The job will be based on clinical studies and will support the aims of the Centre for Epilepsy to provide care and support for people affected by Epilepsy and expand our knowledge of seizure disorders by supporting research. A valid GMCis absolutely essential. Experience in Neurology and especially in the field of Epilepsy and Electroencephalography is highly desirable.

Main duties of the job

  • Identifying and including patients to clinical research studies adopted to national portfolio and registered with CRN leading to peer reviewed publications and international presentations; according to the protocols approved by the Research Ethics Committee, and according to the principles of Good Clinical Practice.
  • Contributing to academic activities as well as clinical duties with training in the department as appropriate.
  • We will encourage the postholder to develop his or her own research interests.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the supervisor.

Grade Clinical Research grade

The above duties will be subject to review from time to time, in discussion with the post holder, to ascertain whether they meet the requirements of the department.
