The SEL Viral Hepatitis Team has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Band 5 Testing Coordinator to join our Hepatitis C ODN team.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the post holder will be responsible for identification and engagement of individuals and/or groups who would benefit from HCV testing and/or curative treatment for the Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network (ODN) across Southeast London. Projects include HCV testing and treatment projects and Liver Wellness clinics and events across community, outreach and health and justice settings, primary care and drug and alcohol treatment services.
The post holder will also coordinate pathways of care that are individual and person centred. Provide clinical interventions such as fibro scanning and phlebotomy in the hospital and the community. Work across South East London to motivate and encourage staff within outreach and community settings (e.g. drug and alcohol services etc.) to carry out HCV testing.
The ideal candidate will have a primary or secondary care background and/or have experience of working within drug and alcohol treatment services.

Main duties of the job
To undertake case finding initiatives to identify patients with hepatitis C, working with GP practices, laboratory databases and other organisations.To liaise with patients to encourage them to enter care and to manage their pathway, ensuring a convenient date, time and location time is agreed.To facilitate the prioritisation of HCV positive individuals by supporting the coordination of assessments at outreach clinics and linkage into care.To appropriately remind clients of their appointment to facilitate care. This may include sending reminder letters or contacting patients by telephone, or text.

To motivate and encourage staff within outreach clinics e.g. drug and alcohol services etc. to routinely offer HCV testing by capillary or dry blood testing.
To monitor the performance of HCV testing by organisations in the community e.g. drug and alcohol and sexual health clinics
To lead the development and implementation of capillary blood test training within HCV outreach clinics. Developing protocol and materials to support the training.
To maintain a record of the HCV test training within the ODN outreach clinics, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of training.
