The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King's College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.

The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and palliative care.

King's is a key partner in one of London's foremost Academic Health Science Centres, King's Health Partners (KHP). KHP is one of only eight Department of Health-designated AHSCs in England. It brings together a world-leading research-led university - King's College London - and three successful NHS Foundation Trusts: King's College Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas', and South London and Maudsley.

Main duties of the job

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant in Palliative Medicine within the King's College Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Service. This is a fixed term post to cover maternity leave, joining the team based at Denmark Hill.

The palliative care team offers an advisory service to patients with palliative care needs and promotes excellence in end of life care across the Trust. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who will contribute to the development of this dynamic multi-professional team and build on partnerships across the locality. The post will sit within a collaborative network across our Clinical Academic Group within King's Health Partners. A wealth of opportunities exist to be involved in research via established links with the Cicely Saunders Institute. This post joins a 1 in 16 category B on call rota.
