Job summary

The post-holder will join the Medical Workforce Team primarily providing support to the Medical Workforce Advisor, Medical Workforce Manager, Associate Medical Director/GMC Responsible Officer and the Chief Medical Officer's office.

Specifically, the post holder will support the maintenance and monitoring of the e-job planning, e-appraisal and revalidation management systems. Also supporting clinical and operational management with M&D leave entitlement calculations.

Main duties of the job

Medical Appraisal & Revalidation

The role supports all grades of Doctors within the Trust (excluding our HEE Trainees) to meet their GMC revalidation requirements through support with our SARD online system and helping them understand the GMC and Trust policy guidelines

Job Planning

The role also provides support to clinical and operational managers in job planning on SARD for a Consultants and SAS grades.

Leave Entitlements

As a team, we also support managers with the calculation of M&D leave entitlements as per the Trust policy.

There is also development opportunities to gain an understanding of our Junior Doctor 2016 contract requirements.

E-Appraisal & Revalidation Management System

  • Support in the management and maintenance of data on the e-appraisal and revalidation management systems in accordance with the Trusts governance arrangements.
  • Validate on a monthly basis the data on the e-appraisal and revalidation management systems against the Trusts Electronic Staff Records (ESR) and GMC Connect using Excel.
  • Attend & take minutes at the monthly meetings with the appraisal and revalidation leads.
  • Monitor and respond to queries regarding appraisals and medical revalidation.
  • Input onto SARD on a weekly basis all GMC Patient Questionnaires submitted by medical staff for their appraisals.
  • Validate the consultant group email with list of consultants on SARD.
  • Update GMC Connect on a weekly basis.
  • Support the production of data and reports for the Responsible Officer and Medical Workforce Manager to assist in monitoring arrangements for revalidation and appraisals.
  • Provide e-Appraisal system support for medical staff helping them to resolve issues and escalating complex issues to the Medical Workforce Advisor.
  • To complete all internal and external RO-RO MPIT reference requests including practicing privileges applications.
  • Assist medical staff with the input of their portfolio onto the Revalidation Management system.

Consultant e-Job Planning System (SARD-JV)

  • Support the management and maintenance of data on the e-job planning and revalidation management systems in accordance with the Trusts governance arrangements.
  • Validate on a monthly basis the data on the e-job planning system against the Trusts Electronic Staff Records (ESR) using Excel.
  • Ensure that the e-Job Planning system is properly populated with job plans, and that the various stages of sign off are completed by the individual consultants and the Divisions.
  • Assist medical & dental staff to create and/or update their job plans on the e-Job Planning system, and upload job plans as and when required.
  • Provide e-Job Plan system support for medical staff helping them to resolve issues and escalating complex issues to the Medical Workforce Advisor.
