Job summary

Are you an outstanding clinical nurse leader with patients and staff at the centre of everything you do? We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader to lead one of our acute respiratory wards.

We are looking for a band 7 ward leader who is ready to lead a team to grow and develop excellent evidence based Respiratory nursing and exceptional patient experience. We also welcome applications from candidates that have previous band 7 experience.

Applicants who are interested will have experience in respiratory and or acute medicine.

The ward manager and nursing staff work closely with the Multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive a positive experience during their stay in the ward.

You will be working in full partnership with the other ward leaders and Respiratory Matron and the Multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance practice. Your role is supported by junior charge nurses, a newly created Clinical Practice Facilitator, Practice Development Nurse and a team of qualified and unqualified nurses.

In return you will be offered support through an individualised development plan and clinical coaching in addition to access to internal and external training opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The Unit cares for respiratory patients across the local boroughs

To act as an expert for the care of a specified group of patients, providing effective leadership and acting as a positive role modelTo participate in benchmark and quality audits including observation of Care. Ensuring that staff receive feedback on the results, and that where necessary action is taken to improve standards. Being a role model for your team creating a culture that support and en-powered staff to contribute to safe and effective care. Supporting staff in their development, skills and knowledge.
