Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an effective, consistent administrative service to the agreed members of the Rheumatology Research Team, working with King's College London colleagues in the Centre for Rheumatic Disease Clinical Trials Group, where the portfolio also currently includes COVID-19 related studies such as vaccine trials, in collaboration with the King's NIHR/ Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility.
Although the team is based with KCL, the post will be managed by the NHS; and the successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly between the institutions.
The post holder will work independently and follow the policies and procedures for the clinical division. The post holder will ensure confidential and sensitive information is kept secure.
This is a varied role with ad hoc demands and so the post holder will need to be flexible, possessing excellent time management and organisational skills. The post holder will also be expected to use their own initiative and keep line manager and senior colleagues informed.
The Rheumatology research portfolio is expanding, and there will be scope for career progression within the RDU. The successful candidate will be supported with the necessary training opportunities to facilitate this.
This is an office-based post.

Main duties of the job

- Responsible for sending letters and emails, and making calls to patients and supporting the management of referral databases and screening logs.
- The nature of the job requires the post holder to be dealing with confidential and sensitive information related to patients and staff. The post holder will ensure this information is kept confidential and secure in line with Trust policies.
- Making updates to the study overview database.
