Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic registered nurse to work in our Eye Department at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. The department offers a comprehensive eye servicethat gives the post holder an opportunity to learn a new and interesting speciality orprogress their current ophthalmic role, skills and knowledge.

We are looking for someone who embraces change, while working with the care group to implement new ways of working who always has the patient at the centre of all they do

You will care for patients attending their eye appointment or procedures, coordinate clinical activity, complete various diagnostic eye tests, assist with ocular procedures and use their holistic knowledge to develop pre-assessment and rapid access assessment skills andmuch more.

You will demonstrate caring qualities,with excellent communication skills,and work well in amulti-professional team so patients are supported and move through the department in a timely and safe manner through high quality care.

Queen Mary's Eye Department is a 7 day service outpatient service and at times you will be asked to work at Orpington Hospital Eye Clinic or other Care Group Clinics.

Main duties of the job

As a NMC registered nurse and bound by the NMC Code of Professional standards, practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates, which presents the professional standards that nurses must uphold in order to be registered.
