Main duties of the job
As a Locum Consultant in Critical Care, you will work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for critically ill patients and developing Critical Care services across Denmark Hill and PRUH site.
Major areas of King's Critical Care (Denmark Hill and PRUH) include Medical, Surgical, Liver Cardiac and Neurosciences together with aspects of Trauma, Resuscitation, and the iMobile outreach service. It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.

- Name on Specialist Register on date of taking up appointment or within six months of the expected date of CCT (or equivalent) on the day of interview (either solely or as dual and joint CCT with a partner specialty) as well as clear pathway to submission of CESR application within coming 6 months
Training and Experience
Essential
- Wide experience in all aspects of critical care, including the management of Poly-trauma, Acute Neurology, Neurosurgical and Cardiothoracic emergencies, Cardiology and Haematological malignancy.
- Recognition or equivalence for training at Advanced Level in Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent.
- ALS accredited.
- Practical skill set as appropriate for CC medicine (bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, echocardiography etc.).
Desirable
- ALS, ATLS and/or APLS accredited.
- Management of Difficult Airway
- Experience with NAVA
- Experience with ECMO.
- FUSIC and FICE accredited

- Experience in day to day organisation of Critical Care Services in a busy Teaching Hospital.
- Able to demonstrate leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of development of clinical guidelines.
