Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and versatile Senior Resuscitation Practitioner to join our existing team of Resuscitation Practitioners who cover all Trust sites at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust including Denmark Hill, Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington, Queen Mary's Sidcup, Beckenham Beacon, Haven Sites, Renal Satellite units and Community Teams.

As part of the leadership team, led by the Senior Lead Resuscitation Practitioner, you will play a key role in the execution of Resuscitation education within the Trust, focusing on the delivery of RCUK recognised Level 1-4 course.

You are expected to be an exemplar role model, expert clinical practitioner currently working at a senior level and demonstrates extensive knowledge of acute clinical or emergency practice.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work autonomously and bring strong leadership, working closely with other service team practitioners and supported by our administrators.

This is an incredibly busy department with both clinical and education deliverables across the Trust, we will support your development and growth through service related and targeted education and training, investing in you to become the best you can be.

Main duties of the job

The Resuscitation service operates across all Trust sites. This is a cross site post, covering all sites related to Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will work closely with other Resuscitation Team members, both senior and junior to facilitate the provision of a highly efficient resuscitation service.

To lead/participate in resuscitation training and education in resuscitation practices. Contribute to the planning, organisation, and implementation of training programmes in all aspects of resuscitation to staff and students within the Trust.

To be a clinical member of the resuscitation team, providing expertise to the team, and where necessary lead the team to ensure best evidence-based practice and outcome to the patient.

To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner in promoting Resuscitation skills and standards supported by current scientific guidance from the Resuscitation Council (UK).

Provide professional advice to all areas of the organisation concerning resuscitation issues, including policy development, training, clinical governance, and equipment issues.

To participate in quality improvement audits both locally and nationally (National Cardiac Arrest Audit).

The post holder will work closely with the Resuscitation Services Senior Lead Practitioner in the ongoing transformation and development of resuscitation services across all sites & department related to the Trust, working in collaboration with service users.

Initiate preliminary corrective action in accordance with Trust policies and guidelines and report incidents to appropriate managers.

Support the delivery of day-to-day activities and projects.

Education & Training

To participate in resuscitation training and education in resuscitation practices in conjunction with the Senior Resuscitation Lead Practitioner.

To participate in the planning, organisation, and implementation of training programmes in all aspects of resuscitation to staff and students within the Trust.
