Job summary

The purpose of the position is to play a key role in ensuring that the Trust provides high quality, patient focused care within the specialist diabetic foot clinic and the diabetes inpatient service. To assist in the delivery and care of patients under the care of diabetic foot team and patients on inpatient wards at the Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital. The post holder will be supported by more experienced podiatrists and nurses to enable them to develop a level of competence in order to work autonomously in providing specialist diabetes care. They will also be required to support the DSN team in the management of inpatients with diabetes and they will also be responsible for managing their own caseload in the diabetic foot clinic, seeking advice and supervision from the established diabetes team where appropriate.
