Job summary
Applications are invited for doctors with suitable experience to work as a full time clinical fellow in King's College Hospital Foundation Trust's Transplantation and Cellular Therapy programme. We are looking to appoint two positions within the team. Clinical fellows who are successful in obtaining a position will be given full educational opportunities and opportunities to rotate though, inpatient CAR-T therapy, transplant and CAR-T clinics, and transplant coordination. Special clinical interests can be accommodated within the rotation according to the successful candidate's professional development requirements. Future research opportunities will be encouraged depending on the aspirations of the successful candidates.
Main duties of the job
The post will have a specific focus on Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and cellular therapy with a view to develop and enhance skills and competencies of the candidate in accordance with the FACT-JACIE accreditation standards. The department has a developing cellular therapy department with significant expansion in CAR-T work in recent years. The post-holder is expected to work within the transplant and clinical trials teams to assist with the development of the CAR-T programme. Opportunities are provided for successful candidates to gain experience across all aspects of transplant and cellular therapy including coordination, post-transplant care and inpatient/outpatient CAR-T work. Specific clinical interests may be facilitated within the job plan. The appointee will take an active role in the day-to-day activities of the transplantation service. The role will include provision of medical support to the multidisciplinary BMT Team as well as ward duties and outpatient care relevant to Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular therapy. In addition to clinical work the appointee will receive training and experience in the areas of therapeutic apheresis and stem cell laboratory.

The appointment will be initially for a period of 1 year with the potential for renewal on an annual basis. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for this post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust.
