Specialist Optometrist

Job summary

We are transforming our Eye Casualty service to integrate a team of highly Specialist Optometrists within the Ophthalmology department. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic group of Optometrist's who already have independent prescribing as a qualification or Optometrist's who want to further develop and to work in an extended role capacity, with the view to becoming an independent prescribing Optometrist. We welcome newly qualified Optometrists. Funding for independent prescribing qualification will be provided. Banding will be dependent on experience. Training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

To work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team providing a high level of eye care within the Eye Casualty and Ophthalmology and Optometry services.

This role will also include some core optometry skills as well.

Good Broad theoretical and practical knowledge of Optometry and Opthalmology

Essential
