Applications are invited for this 10PA full time post Hepatobiliary imaging and Intervention based in the Department of Radiology at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT).
King's College Hospital NHS Trust (KCH) is one of the largest and busiest in London, with a well-established national and international reputation for clinical excellence, innovation and achievement. The hospital not only serves a diverse, multi-ethnic local population but operates as one of the four major trauma centres within the capital, a major trauma centre for Kent and as a tertiary services centre for neuroscience (including stroke), haematological oncology, cardiac / cardio-thoracic (including PAMI), cystic fibrosis, and hepatobiliary (including liver transplantation) patients.
Main duties of the job
The activities and development of the Imaging Services reflect those of the Hospital as a whole with integration of both undergraduate and postgraduate training with service commitments to the institution. Following a Trust wide organisational change in January 2017, the General, Neuro, Breast and Dental Radiology services have come together and are now part of the Critical Care, Radiology and MEP Care Group, which is within the directorate of Networked Care.
KCH is a tertiary referral centre for hepatobiliary and pancreatic malignancies. It is also one of the largest adult and paediatric liver transplant centres in the UK. The post holder will join a team of 6 HPB radiologists, HPB /Liver transplant surgeons, Hepatologists, Liver intensivists, dedicated Oncologists and Pathologists to deliver a high quality specialist service for patients from a large referral base. All aspects of HPB intervention is performed at King's including TIPSS, BRTO, TACE, SIRT, MWA, IRE and islet cell transplantation. This is an additional consultant post with a remit to support the delivery of hepatobiliary imaging service at King's College Hospital. The post holder is expected to deliver all aspects of this specialist service which includes reporting complex axial imaging, supporting tertiary MDM's and specialist Hepatobiliary IR.

The post was created to support growing demand for radio-embolisation and as such experience in this technique is desired. Kings is also major trauma centre and the successful applicant will join the interventional on-call rota.
