Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Neurosurgery at King's College NHS Foundation Trust for a Neurosurgery PA to join the team in an on-call shift pattern role. The Physician Associate role has been established within the department for several years and we are now looking to recruit additional PAs to join our fantastic team.
The successful candidate willbecome an integral part of the Neurosurgical MDT andbe directly supervised by one of our Consultant Neurosurgeons. Applicants must hold a science related degree prior to having attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Physician Associate/Assistant Studies from an accredited UK training program and have proven experience in managing a team. They must have successfully passed the PANE or PA Recertification exam if applicable and be registered with the FPA-RCP. Applicants who do not meet these criteria need not apply.

Main duties of the job
The Physician Associate will support the specialist trainees and junior clinical fellows in the delivery of high-quality care to elective and emergency neurosurgical patients. They will have an integral role in ensuring that patient care is of a high standard at all times and that standards of care and treatment meet the department's requirements.
The Physician Associate will provide expert evidence-based advice and clinical expertise within the Trust, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
They will be expected to actively contribute to the on-going development of the Neurosurgical department. In due course the post holder will be encouraged to help collate and present the data at local and national meetings.
