Job summary
Working Full time : 40 hours per week
The postholder will regularly attend supervised clinics, flexible cystoscopy lists, day case and inpatient lists so that the operative and management skills are commensurate with the level expected for ST3+. They will be actively encouraged to get involved in audit projects and academic work.
This is a Trust post and not recognised for training purposes, however the successful applicant will participate in relevant teaching opportunities.
Main duties of the job
Inpatients : The post offers a wide variety of experience in both elective and emergency Urology. The post holder will be responsible to the appropriate Consultants for admitting cases, the conduct of ward investigations and for pre- and post-operative care. They will also be responsible for arranging theatre lists and will participate in operative surgery, the extent of their involvement being commensurate with experience and ability.
Outpatients : The post holder will attend and assist in Urology Outpatient Clinics.

This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
