Who Our Opportunity is for:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Outpatients Team for a Plaster Technician.
If you hold the British Orthopaedic Association British Casting Certificate qualification would start at a band 4 however we would also consider the below.
If you do not hold the above qualification it would commence at Band 3 HCA role and upon successful completion of the Plaster Technician training course, the post holder will move to a Band 4 Plaster Technician. The training period will be approximately 18 months from commencement of employment within the outpatients team.
Applicants must already have NVQ level 3 relevant qualification or working at a current band 3 role to be eligible for this option.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within the multi disciplinary team implementing care for outpatients and in-patients as required.
The post holder will work predominantly in the plaster room carrying out procedures including applying and removing plasters, simple wound assessment and dressings, also assist in the clinic as work load dictates.
The post holder needs to be professionally accountable and to work according to the Association of Orthopaedic Practitioners (AOP) and British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) code of professional practice.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
