Apprentice Administration Assistant - 12 months

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

Would you like to start an exciting career as an Apprentice within the Medical Staffing Team. We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic person to join our busy but friendly medical staffing team.

To attend regular meetings with the supervisor, assessor and attend training sessions leading to an Apprenticeship certificate in Business Administration. This consists of a National Vocational Qualification, a technical certificate and key skills.

You will be trained to provide skills in a varied day to day administrative service within the team. A large part of the duties involve supporting the wider team in the provision of locum doctors, recruitment and Administration.

To provide efficient and comprehensive administration support to the Medical Staffing Team. To also provide support to the Medical Staffing Co-ordinators and the Team as a whole at peak times.

With an emphasis on excellent communication and team working, as the post holder you will have a key role liaising with all levels of staff, including managers and consultant medical staff.

To undertake other ad hoc duties or projects as required by and agreed with the HR Medical Staffing Manager or HR Medical Staffing Specialists.

Main duties of the job

To support the Medical Staffing Team in the day to day running of the department.

Inputting into the monthly payroll data base for additional duties worked by junior doctors within the Trust and the wider trainees employed by the Lead Employer.

Daily check messages which have been sent to the shared email inbox for the team and either respond to the emails or seek assistance from the coordinators for escalation to the senior team where appropriate.

Assist Medical Staffing Coordinators in ensuring all rota gaps are filled using internal and external agencies.

Assist in the processing of requests to join the Trust's Medical Bank in accordance with the agreed procedure and process, including requesting References and undertaking pre-employment checks using ESR (Electronic Staff Record system). Notifying departments and the Medical Staffing Specialists when cleared to start.
