Working Part time - 30 Hours per week
You will undertake the coordination of widening participation programmes and apprenticeships to support the Vocational Development Manager to fulfil service requirements. You will efficiently coordinate learners enrolled on apprenticeship programmes and widening participation activities, such as work experience and pre-employment programmes ensuring high quality delivery and lead on staple events such as work experience week and careers nights.
You will also ensure that support is offered to the education and training function in developing and accurately maintaining processes and procedures to ensure robust service delivery.
Main duties of the job
The list below is to outline the main duties involved however, this is subject to change and will vary within the given role.
1. Manage the pathway for work experience programmes, traineeships, and pre-employment programmes.2. Organise, coordinate, and manage all operational and administrative activities associated with learners on all Widening Participation activities. This will include timely completion of the correct records, booking rooms, organising resources, and scheduling classes around service demands. 3. Coordinating all work experience placements throughout the year including bespoke programme such as 'work experience week' liaising with staff trust-wide and influencing to support the increase in placement numbers. 4. Support with the coordination and delivery of Trust-wide initiatives and events such as Learning at Work Week, Apprenticeship Week and Trust-wide celebratory events. 5. Identify and inform potential departments/areas in the Trust where Apprenticeships and Widening Participation activities could be of benefit.6. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners such as staff, managers, schools and colleges.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
