An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Education Department at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The postholder will join a team who together provide educational support to our undergraduate student doctors, our doctors in training, locally employed doctors and student physician associates, as well as our Consultants and SAS doctors.

Your day will be varied coordinating teaching programmes, timetabling and portfolios as well as day to day administration to support the department. You will be liaising with stakeholders such as the University of Liverpool/University of Chester, Health Education North West as well as Consultants, doctors, clinicians, student doctors and multidisciplinary staff.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide educational support to the Foundation Doctor Trainees and Medical Student doctors providing guidance and instruction under the direction of the Medical Education Manager and Deputy.
  • To update, maintain and analyse timetabling and attendance records with UoL software.
  • To administer, co ordinate and maintain curricula / e-portfolios for Foundation Doctors and Student doctors, placed at the Trust ensuring essential training / teaching has been timetabled and completed.
  • To provide a full range of administrative and secretarial support to the Director of Medical Education, Clinical Sub Dean, Clinical Tutors, Medical Education Manager and deputy using the necessary software and programmes, taking minutes, preparing letters and reports and creating and maintaining registers, spreadsheets and databases. This also includes diary management.
  • To support the organisation and smooth running of Inductions required for Doctors in Training and Student doctors throughout the year.
  • Organise teaching against curricula and ensure this is within timetables.
  • Assist with the collation and administration of records for GMC registration, HEENW and PMETB accreditation.
  • Arrange catering and payment for catering for meetings as required.
  • To organise and provide administration for conferences, courses, seminars and meetings within Medical Education as required.
