Our friendly and thriving HR and Wellbeing Business Services currently has 5 clients. Providing a high quality payroll and pension service to approx. 24,000 employees which equates to producing over 310,000 payslips annually whilst consistently delivering accuracy rates of 99.37%.

We are looking to recruit two full time Payroll Team Leaders, with a passion and commitment to drive the service forward together with a proven record of excellent customer service. The candidate will be required to lead a team and be able to demonstrate you can use your initiative to solve problems in order for strict payroll deadlines to be adhered to. Our ideal candidate will also need to have in depth knowledge of the payroll service including ESR, NHS terms and conditions and statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SAP, Student Loans and Attachment of Earning orders.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a selection process, which will comprise of the following:
- a practical assessment,
- a formal interview
Main duties of the job
Accountable to the Payroll/ESR Team Manager(s), the post holder will be responsible for providing a professional operational Payroll/ESR service to the clients of the HR Shared Service. To ensure that the ESR Payroll Module is able to be processed within agreed deadlines and producing accurate and prompt salary payments to all staff in accordance with all statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.
To liaise and communicate with Managers and Staff at all levels to advise on complex payroll queries.
To carry out complex financial calculations and analyse detailed data to identify any areas of error or discrepancy.
The post holder will provide day to day supervision of more junior staff, allocating workloads and checking work, with overall ownership of the ESR record
