Our newly expanded Homecare team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated pharmacy technician. We provide prescription management for outpatient Homecare services for approximately 1800 patients across many different specialties. Our team consists of a lead pharmacist, pharmacy technicians and administrators.

This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the Homecare team. You will be involved in continuing development of the service alongside the day to day process management.

Who Our Opportunity is for:

  • The successful candidate will be expected to have an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services / BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent qualification along with recent experience in pharmacy purchasing and/or Homecare medicines services or a BTEC Professional Development Certificate in Dispensing Technician Checking.
  • Attention to detail and good numeracy and literary skills are essential.
  • You will be required to actively participate in the development of the department and homecare service in line with recognised best practice.
  • You need to be able to effectively manage your time to prioritise work and meet deadlines and have excellent communication skills.
  • You will be expected to participate in the dispensary weekend and bank holiday rota in order to ensure that a pharmacy service is provided to patients at these times.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of the newly expanded Homecare team, working along side the the Medicines Management team and multidisciplinary healthcare teams . You will be working to provide an excellent service to our patients who receive medication under the Homecare service. You will be encouraged to work on projects to enhance our patients experience and participate in the ongoing development of the service.

You will be responsible for the day to day technical duties relating to homecare medicines supplies including prescription management, reconciling and receiving orders from homecare suppliers, matching delivery notes with proof of delivery and invoices, and liaising with the relevant parties to resolve discrepancies.

You will help ensure the homecare providers work within their contractual obligations and existing service level agreements. You will participate in the development of reports on quality and financial indicators on all homecare medicine services and work to maintain our high standards.

You will assist the Homecare lead in the development and implementation of SOP's for homecare medicines management. Responsible for training and supporting all grades of staff on homecare medicines management.
