We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse Associate to join our team working across Main Outpatients, Breast Clinics, Orthopaedic Outpatients and the Elective Treatment Suite. We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Nursing Associate to support Outpatients Department. You must be a registered Nursing Associate with an NMC Pin, or due to qualify within 2 months.
Duties include assisting with Gynae and Urology procedures and supporting patient Admission and Discharge. There are opportunities to develop knowledge and skills with support for personal development.
The Nursing Associate will provide holistic and person-centred care and support across the sphere of nursing, communicating effectively within the team, with other healthcare professionals and with patients, families and carers.
The Nursing Associate will work independently with the support and leadership of registered nurses, working within the nursing process to ensure high standards of care and a safe clinical environment are maintained.
Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

Undertake clinical tasks agreed within competence to the specific clinical area.
Support individuals with all aspects of care including daily living, providing person-centered care and promoting health and independence.
To implement a plan of care which is in accordance with the patient's individual care needs and the predicted date of patient discharge.
To support and maintain patient safety by undertaking clinical risk assessments and utilising the clinical incident reporting system.
Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is always maintained.
Demonstrate the ability to recognise changing priorities seeking advice and guidance from the Registered Nurse or other registered care professionals as appropriate.
Work within the principles of informed consent and ensure valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking nursing and care procedures
To recognise situations, behaviors or errors that could result in poor care / outcomes and report to manager / trained nurse any untoward incidences (e.g. complaints, accidents, defective equipment) and take appropriate action to ensure safety of patients, staff and relatives
To undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility.
