Job summary

The post holder will promote excellence and improve client care by providing support, education, and training to staff in best practices for infant feeding. With a particular focus on breastfeeding, they will act as a positive role model, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing the Baby Friendly Initiative within the service.

Hours per week: 22.50

Main duties of the job

To work across all departments within Women's and Children's Services supporting mothers in the initiation and maintenance of breastfeeding.

To work with all Women's and Children's Services staff as a lead, supporting best practice in infant feeding.

To support with theimplementation of Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI).

Participate in teaching and delivery of training on infant feeding issues including clinical care.

  • In-depth understanding of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative and its implementation
