Job summary

Are you a Clinical Coder looking for an exciting development and progression opportunity with flexible working hours? East Cheshire have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Coder to join our friendly team.

Experienced coders play a pivotal role to enhance our coding department, working within the team to meet deadlines, reporting back to the Clinical Coding Manager and working with both non-clinical and clinical staff within the Trust to ensure high data quality.

Main duties of the job

To provide an efficient and high-quality Clinical Coding service to support the business needs of the Trust, including Clinical Governance, Information Governance and Finance by ensuing accurate, consistent, timely and complete inputting of medical terminology.

To provide consistently recorded data to well defined Clinical Coding standards. The Clinical Coding Department uses the ICD-10 and OPCS 4 classifications to record all diagnoses and procedures for all inpatient and day case admissions.

To assist the Clinical Coding Management to ensure that complete and high-quality Clinical Coding is delivered within the timescales set by the Secondary User Service and Payment by Results/National Payment Tariff System.

To enhance the original information provided for Clinical Coding and therefore improve the quality of coded information, the job holder will assist the Clinical Coding Management to develop an improved communication system between the Clinical Coding Department and Clinicians and other Medical Professionals.
