Job summary

As a Clinical Support Worker here at East Cheshire NHS Trust, you will be working alongside teams of professionals to ensure our patients receive the best possible care and the most positive outcome. You will be the patient advocate, ensuring they are comfortable, supported, well looked after and most importantly listened to. Our Clinical Support Workers provide hands-on care, empathy, and encouragement to enable a more comfortable stay and support recovery.

We currently have full and part-time permanent vacancies across the following clinical specialties:

  • Ward 1, Surgery
  • Ward 4, General Medicine
  • Ward 9, Elderly Care with Dementia

Flexible working opportunities with various rotational shifts including early (7:00-15:00), late (13:00-20:00), long day (7:00-20:00) and night shifts (19:30-7:30).

Main duties of the job

The postholder will workunder the direction of the Registered nurse to Provide and deliver a high standard of compassionate personal care recognising and meeting the specific needs of the patients.

Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care for patient and under the direction of the Registered Nurse undertake delegated clinical care duties including personal care duties (supporting patients with toileting, bathing, dressing, and nutritional intake), recording patient observations and documentation of patient care.

The postholder will carry out clinical care duties in line with the CSW section of the Clinical Competency framework (appendix 1) and will be required to participate in a 24-hour shift pattern and possible rotation between wards within their speciality.
