Job summary

The GP Out of Hours team is a fast paced, high pressured service that provides primary care to the whole of Eastern Cheshire. We are looking to recruit a number of a well-rounded, confident and patient focused individuals to join our team.

Previous NHS and driving experience are desirable. Knowledge of the local area is also preferred. GP OOHs service covers the Eastern Cheshire demographic. Post holder must be able to lift and carry bags and equipment.

The post holders will be flexible and have the ability to work as a team whilst also exercising their own initiative. Full training will be provided.

Shift Pattern: Weekday evenings 19:00-23:00Weekends between 09:00-23:00

Location: Macclesfield District General Hospital

Main duties of the job

The post holders will have an excellent telephone manner and have the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and care. We are looking for candidates with good attention to detail who is able to accurately input patient data into NHS IT systems.

Post holders will be required to drive GPs to home visits, navigate using a satellite navigation (satnav) system and drive safely and carefully in all weather conditions. Applicants must be able to carry and manoeuvre visiting bags and equipment and be able to refuel the car when required,

Candidates must hold a full UK driving license.

The post holder will have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Call Handlers, Nurses, 111 and NWAS.
