Job summary

Ward 11 seeks a Band 2 Ward Clerk who is responsive to the needs of modernising health care demands. To join a forward thinking team who are always developing and striving to provide a high quality service. The job is for 30 bedded medical inpatient unit.

Duties will include liaising with the general public, dealing with telephone enquiries, general filing and administrative activities relating to the admission, discharge and handling of patient notes. You will be required to liaise with staff at all levels and to demonstrate a dedicated approach in providing a high quality service. There may be a need to work the hours flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

The position is full time or part time.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to work as a proactive member of the ward team and to undertake a range of duties to assist the ward team in maintaining the smooth running of the clinical areas.

The post holder will liaise with and provide the multidisciplinary team with timely and accurate information required to support and maintain patient flow, under the direction of the ward manager.
