Booking Clerk/Admin Assistant (RTT Validator):

This post is permanent, 27 hours per week Days to be negotiated.

Outpatient Booking Clerk:

This post is permanent, 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm hours to be negotiated and full, time 37.5 hours per week.

Inpatient Booking Clerk:

This post is permanent, 10 hours per week (5 hours per day).

Macclesfield Hospital is a busy district general hospital situated in Cheshire, close to the beautiful Peak District and within easy reach of the centre of Manchester.

We are looking to appoint an, enthusiastic and motivated admin/booking clerk to support our dynamic outpatient and inpatient Booking team . The Teams are looking for a well-organised, self-confident and proactive individual to work in a very busy and demanding environment, either alone or as part of the team.

You will need to be computer literate, flexible and willing to learn new skills. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and must have a positive and proactive approach to work. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills as you will be dealing with staff and patients by phone, email and face to face. Knowledge of medical terminology, administration and organisational experience is essential.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the specialty operational team to plan and book the outpatients appointments , ensuring maximum clinic utilisation, re-scheduling of cancelled patients and ensuring the service works within the guidelines for delivery of the national 18 week referral to treatment target.

The post-holder will provide an efficient and effective administrative and booking service for the Planned Care directorate. The post requires good organisational and keyboard skills and a professional telephone manner.

The post-holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary teams, using their initiative and decision making within agreed service guidelines and local and national targets.
