Main duties of the job

To act as an advanced clinical specialist responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted onto the intermediate care ward, leading on very complex cases and supporting junior staff in the team with complex cases, contributing to overall case management.

To work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team to formulate rehabilitation and discharge plans and liaise with other key stakeholders to facilitate relevant onward recommendations as necessary.

To act as lead clinician within specialist area supporting the operational delivery of the trust and AHP strategies, planning, co-ordination, and evaluation of the multi-professional Therapy service provided for patients on the intermediate care ward at Congleton War Memorial Hospital including transformational quality improvement projects.

Be part of the advanced clinical specialist Physiotherapist leadership team of band 7s, assessing competency to practice, identifying and addressing any training needs required by staff and working with professional leads to support the development of opportunities and professional legacy within the trust.

Work as part of the on-call respiratory weekend rota, based at Macclesfield District General Hospital.
