Healthcare Support Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly team within the Respiratory Specialty Ward at Macclesfield Hospital. Ward 11 is a dedicated 24 bedded Unit that encompasses an enhanced care facility for patients who require higher dependency care and specialist input for a wide range of respiratory illnesses. As a valued member of our team, you will help deliver the fundamental care needs for our patients including assisting with washing, dressing, nutrition and elimination. You will ensure that patient's receive a positive experience through the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care whilst promoting independence towards a safe discharge from hospital care.

Hours per Week: up to 37.5 hours per week

We are a Flexible Working Employer

You will receive a robust and supportive training package in order to successfully complete your Care Certificate within 3 months of starting in post.

Main duties of the job

The role of a Healthcare Assistant is to support our Staff Nurses in delivering high quality patient care by attending to aspects of patient personal hygiene, supporting patients to access appropriate nutrition, providing bowel and bladder care and maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times.

In order to support service delivery and the highest level of care for our patients, you will be required to participate in a 24 hour shift pattern and possible rotation between wards within their specialty. We encourage flexible working.
