Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible finance professional to work within the Finance Team as a Senior Financial Management Analyst. This is similar to a Deputy Management Accountant type role and is suited to someone with a finance background.

The post holder will work within the Financial Management team, providing support on a range of financial services including preparation of financial statements, budget settings and statistical analyses for Operational and Financial Senior Managers, on both a routine and ad hoc basis.

Main duties of the job

  • The Senior Analyst is responsible for completing the monthly reporting cycle ensuring an accurate reported position to the Business Units and for the Trust as a whole.
  • The post holder will assist the FRM (Financial Reporting Manager) in maintaining provision, accruals and pre-payment registers. Ensuring that the required adjustments are actioned accurately.
  • The post holder will assist the FRM in providing reports and trend analysis to the Senior Finance Team and the Business Units.
  • The post holder will assist the FRM in maintaining key controls and reconciliations to ensure accurate closedown of the ledger.
  • The post holder will provide advice and support for ad hoc queries to the Business Units, with the direction of the SFM (Senior Finance Manager) and FRM.
  • The post holder will provide supervision and guidance to junior finance staff within the Financial Management Team.

  • AAT Member or equivalent to honors degree level or AAT technician - part CCAB qualification or equivalent level of experience

  • Studying towards CCAB (Professional accountancy qualification)

  • Experience of working in financial management in the NHS
