Job summary

This apprenticeship is a new route to 'learn while you earn'. The Dietetic and Leadership apprenticeship with East Cheshire NHS Trust is an attractive package, combining employment, work based learning, and academic learning working towards a nationally recognised apprenticeship standard through a university course.

Apprenticeship Education Provider:

To be successful at interview, you must meet the minimum entry criteria for the Higher Education Institute who will deliver the MSc apprenticeship qualification.

For the Dietetics & Leadership (pre-registration) MSc at Coventry University.

Entry criteria are:

Upper second-class honours degree or above in a health or science related subject. Other degree level qualifications may be considered with relevant work based experiential experience which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

GCSE English and Maths at grades A*-C or 9-4.

Main duties of the job

To work as a Dietetic Apprentice working towards becoming an autonomous Dietitian assessing patients in across acute and community settings at East Cheshire NHS Trust, exercising professional judgement to establish patient centred goals, and to accept, plan, initiate, modify, refer or cease treatment within prescribed limits

To meet the requirement to complete a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) approved MSc (Hons) in Dietetics and Leadership and the apprenticeship standards on an approved apprenticeship degree programme within an agreed time period.

To work under appropriate supervision during training period developing Dietetic professional practice knowledge and skills
