Job summary
To deliver an exceptional and innovative library and knowledge service to staff, learners and partner organisations as a member of the Library & Knowledge Service team. The library supports all Trust staff and learners to deliver patient-centred, evidence-based care in a timely and efficient manner and supports research in the trust and the continual professional development of trust staff through a range of library services.
Ensure that all electronic library resources such as databases, journals, e-books, point of care tools and other online resources are easily accessible to staff and students, delivering training, liaising with providers, troubleshooting any issues, evaluating resources, and providing statistical reports. To be the Athens administrator for the trust, managing user accounts and enabling access to our subscribed resources.
Managing, designing, and maintaining the library website and intranet pages to facilitate access to library resources and services and designing library promotional materials.
Conduct literature searches to support evidence-based practice, producing current awareness updates.
The postholder must hold a recognised degree in library or information science and preferably be a member of CILIP.
Hours per week: 22.5
Main duties of the job
Take the lead in the development & utilisation of electronic resources in the Library & Knowledge Service (LKS) ensuring seamless access
Be responsible for the library website ensuring it is kept uptodate
Manage the Library management system, troubleshooting any technical issues, writing SQL reports to gather and inform service delivery
Answer a wide range of library and LE&D Hub enquiries
Support digital transformation agenda with the service and the wider Trust
Design and deliver training and inductions
Create KnowledgeShare alerts and other specialist current awareness bulletins, conduct Evidence searches
Produce all marketing materials
Work in partnership with others as appropriate to support the Library & Knowledge Service manager to continually improve the service and to complete the national Quality Improvement Outcomes Framework
