Job summary

We have a vacant opportunity for a B6 Digital Communications Lead (12 months fixed term) to join us at our Macclesfield District General Hospital site , working across the East Cheshire NHS Trust organisation .

Working closely with the Head of Communications and Engagement, the Digital Communications Lead will play a lead role in shaping and implementing an effective communications and engagement plan for the implementation of the Think Digital strategy within Trust.

This will include working with the Digital Teams to design, deliver and evaluate a range of communications led projects for patients, public and staff.

A key project deliverable for this role is the successful adoption of the Patient Portal, which will involve working with key stakeholders, both internally and externally to ensure that stakeholders are aware of this new capability and can broadcast the message across the Cheshire East area.

The Digital Communications Lead will develop and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and provide specialist advice to members of the organisation, ensuring that relevant Trust policies are adhered to.

The postholder will also manage, as well as explore any opportunities to develop, the Trust's established communications channels so that information reaches the right people at the right time.

This post is Fixed Term for 12 Months. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 8th August 2023.

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of the post holder include the following:

Professional

  • Manage the day-to-day internal and external communications activities for the Think Digital strategy for the Trust

GOVERNANCE

  1. Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, by taking action/alerting senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care

MANAGERIAL/LEADERSHIP

  1. Act as a role model by demonstrating leadership and expertise, and by maintaining credibility within the Communications department, the wider Trust and its stakeholders, ensuring that a positive image of the Trust is maintained

EDUCATION/LEARNING

  1. Take responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, including full participation in appraisal, supervision, action learning and by maintaining a professional/personal portfolio of learning.
