Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join our teams as a band 6 rotational clinical pharmacist on a progression pathway to becoming a band 7 clinical pharmacist. As an organisation and department we are committed to the development and retention of our staff, which is why we want to invest in this new band 6 to 7 progression role.
Applicants should be either a registered pharmacist with the GPhC or a trainee pharmacist due to qualify this year. You will be self-motivated and organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team. This is a full time (37.5 hours) permanent post, yet part-time hours will be considered.
Main duties of the job
To provide a clinical pharmacy service to the dispensary and designated ward areas including the local hospice and a community hospital in Congleton.
Our team of pharmacists currently provide a service to the following specialties:
Cardiology
Respiratory
Endocrinology
Gastroenterology
Medical admissions
Trauma and orthopaedics
General Surgery
Intensive care
Paediatrics
Care of the Elderly
Intermediate Care
Palliative care
Pre-operative assessment clinic
You will be provided with the relevant training and support to work in the various specialties within the Trust and in addition to ward-based services, our comprehensive rotation programme also includes training within our aseptics and Medicines Information services.
Within the role you will be able to further develop your clinical skills through the undertaking of a clinical postgraduate diploma and we encourage our clinical team to undertake the non-medical prescribing module as part of this.

This post is Permanent and full time, and includes participation in late duty, on-call and weekend work.
