Due to increased Medical Device procurement The Medical Engineering Department is seeking an additional experienced Medical Engineer to become a member of a small team providing a comprehensive medical equipment maintenance and repair service on a range of medical equipment, including patient monitors, infusion devices, and general medical equipment.
Hours per Week: 37.5
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be qualified to degree level or possess equivalent demonstrable knowledge, and will have attained at least 5 years post qualification experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment within an acute Hospital setting, having attended relevant manufacturers certified training courses. The duties are complex in nature, demanding a high level of responsibility and independent judgement with the ability to perform the majority of duties with little or no direct supervision.
The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop the flexible working patterns, knowledge & skills required of a Medical Engineering Technician employed in a small department. They would also be expected to maintain the skills to interact directly with, assist and advise clinical users requiring urgent, informed assistance in clinical situations that can be both distressing and unpleasant.
