Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Data Quality / 18-week RTT validation team. The successful applicant will have knowledge of patient administration systems or previous experience working within a busy office environment and excellent customer service skills. The team are responsible for working with various processes and system to manage the data held in the Master Patient Index, ensuring it is accurate and up to date. To monitor patients across the trust throughout their 18 Weeks Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathway, liaising with other departments to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner.To manage the data held in the RTT Clocks database, ensuring it is accurate and up to date.To provide a central point for tertiary referrals into and out of the trust, ensuring that pathway data provided is correct, and recording this in the Inter Provider Transfer Administrative Minimum Data Set (IPTAMDS) database

Main duties of the job

To assist the trust to achieve the national 18 week referral to treatment target (RTT) by having responsibility for analysing data relating to patient pathways, undertaking detailed patient level validation and liaison with various departments across the clinical directorates. To facilitate delivery of the 18 week target without the trust incurring financial penalties and risk associated with failure to provide data that is robust and fit for purpose.

To provide a Data Quality Service to all departments within the trust whilst having to investigate, resolve and correct data quality issues identified via the 18 week PTL, Information Reports and routine audits.

To manage each patient journey from referral to treatment in an efficient and timely manner, to validate data to ensure the accurate recording of clock start and stop times, tracking and avoidance of potential breaches of RTT targets, whilst providing advice and support to relevant staff regarding RTT related issues.

To provide a central point for referrals in to and out of the Trust ensuring that pathway data is correct and complete, recording this in to the Inter Provider Transfer Administrative Minimum Data Set (IPTAMDS) and that referrals arrive at the correct destination in the agreed timeframe.

  • NVQ level 3 in relevant subject or equivalent qualification / experience
