Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust is looking to recruit an information analyst with excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail. The post holder will work as part of the Covid-19 support team receiving, analysing, interpreting and reporting Covid-19 data on a daily basis. In addition to this the post holder will also work within the Informatics Team carrying out a range of tasks including data analysis, report writing, dashboard development and benchmarking activities.

Hours per week: 35

Main duties of the job

The analyst will extract, validate and analyse data from trust systems, and populate dashboards and scorecards for use across the trust, and as a direct response to the Covid -19 pandemic through routes to NHS England in a time specified role.The analyst will also be responsible for selected central statistical returns as they develop, play a large part in data quality, and be crucial to the development of the trusts data warehouse.

They will also respond positively and quickly to ad hoc information requests from Gold Command ( Pandemic response team) managers, clinicians and the public, provide regular information as required to external agencies (such as the Department of Health, NHS England, CCGs and GPs), and assist in the maintenance and development of Trustinformation systems.

Essential

  • An interest in the use of relational databases and SQL
  • A working knowledge of MS Office, including good understanding of developing and using Excel spread sheets

Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS data dictionary, common datasets and NHS central returns
  • Familiar with Acute and Community health services
  • Experience of Hospital Information Systems or other relevant experience in Information Management
