We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Specialty Doctor to join us at East Cheshire NHS Trust to work as part of our General Medicine Team.
The post will be based on the General Medicine Ward (11) to provide senior medical cover.
The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community based services, including an emergency department, acute medicine and emergency surgery; elective surgery in many specialties; maternity services and cancer services. Our community health services include; district nursing, intermediate care, occupational and physiotherapy, community dental services, speech and language therapy and palliative care. We also provide a number of hospital services in partnership with other local trusts and private providers, including pathology, urology and renal dialysis services.

Main duties of the job
The role of Specialty Doctor will include the following:
- Support acute assessment and intermediate care wards as required
- Look after inpatients in general medical ward
- Participate in audit programme, maintaining robust systems for effective clinical audit
- Assist with outpatient clinics, including rapid access (depending on specialist interest)
- Assist with service development
- Attend unit management and governance meetings
- Work with colleagues to ensure effective management of inpatients, internal referrals,outpatient clinics and investigational sessions
- Participate in the education and training of medical students, doctors, and professionsallied to medicine including those in primary care
