Job responsibilities

As a senior employee of the Trust the post-holder will work in close co-operation with, and support, other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trusts patients.

Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements: -

To ensure the provision of a first class clinical service

To provide effective leadership to junior doctors and medical students

To undertake all work in accordance with the Trusts procedures and operating policies

To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trusts and Operational Groups services plans

The post would suit a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of Obstetrics & Gynaecology procedures in this busy DGH.

The appointee must be fully registered with the General Medical Council with a License to Practice.

The appointee will:

Provide Labour and emergency cover daytime as well as out of hours at Scunthorpe General Hospital

Should not be on duty for labour ward whilst being timetabled for gynaecology clinic or antenatal clinic or private practice.

Provide general gynaecology and obstetrics services comprising outpatient clinics, ambulatory and theatre.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• MRCOG or equivalent
• Advanced Labour Ward Capabilities
• Experience in management of Early Pregnancy Assessment

Desirable

• Acute gynaecological ATSM

Occupational Experience and Abilities

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate effective communication with patients and ensure patient-tailored plans are made
• Ability to work effectively within a Team and demonstrate experience of this
• Demonstrate effective leadership skills

Desirable

• Completion of CCT
