Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior OD practitioner to join a team of OD, coaching, Culture and leadership specialists within the Organisational Development department. This role is a Group wide role based in NLAG.

The role offers an opportunity to be integral to the cultural transformation of the organisation and redefine staff engagement to create and promote an environment in which people thrive.

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated, and proactive individual with proven OD, HR and/ or leadership development and people management skills to deliver a portfolios of programmes to support our staff deliver great care. If you are an ambitious individual who has excellent communication skills, a professional attitude, a passion for promoting and delivering compassionate leadership and coaching then this role is for you.

Main duties of the job

The Senior OD practitioner will

  • use their highly developed specialist knowledge and understanding of OD, Leadership and Staff Engagement theory/practice to coordinate, plan and implement key priorities from the Culture Transformation and OD section of the People Strategy, alongside supporting the wider People Strategy vision.
  • be responsible for the design, co-ordination and delivery of complex programmes of work across departments and the whole Group
  • ensure that all relevant stakeholders are involved in this process working with Care Groups and Corporate Directorate leaders
  • support and deliver on the work streams of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Culture Transformation and Management, Coaching, Mentoring, Supervision programmes, Staff Emotional and Mental Well-Being, and Leadership Development.
  • offer OD consultancy services to individuals, teams and wider departments with clear measures, outcomes and improvements as a result of the work undertaken as well as supporting other leadership and cultural transformation work streams within the Group
  • use HR, Staff Engagement, Performance, Quality and Safety data to effectively understand and assess the Organisation's and individual team's cultural progress and make recommendations for improvement.
  • facilitate, train and devise bespoke development interventions in a wide variety of OD Specialist areas including Leadership, Coaching, Talent Management and Culture transformation.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Post Graduate professional management qualification gained through degree or post graduate qualification or significant equivalent level experience in a Leadership, Management, Team Development, in a highly specialist OD related discipline/subject
  • Coaching Certificate/qualification or equivalent evidenced practitioner experience

Desirable

  • Specific OD or Leadership Qualifications to Masters Level or Equivalent
  • Qualified to use psychometric instruments
  • CIPD Qualified

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of delivering leadership, OD, and/or service improvement in a large complex environment
  • Significant proven experience and highly specialist knowledge in organisational development theory and practice, influencing a positive culture and staff engagement through change management
  • 2 years or more experience working as a senior manager or significant experience working as an advisor in a developmental role working within a complex organisation
  • Knowledge of key issues facing the NHS in the provision of excellent patient care and putting the patient first.
  • Significant experience in providing and receiving complex and sensitive information (organisational change) using negotiating, persuasive and empathetic skills
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders including senior leaders and close to patient staff
  • Significant and proven experience in managing organisation wide projects and delivering anticipated outputs/outcomes
