Job summary
A position has become available for an IT Support Assistant to be part of our IT Operational Team based at Lincoln County Hospital. The role will provide 1st line support in the day-to-day administration of our clinical systems; answer and action any calls regarding a variety of IT issues; qualify and log calls regarding specialism and priority.
We are looking for someone with a real passion and knowledge for IT support, a problem solver and eager to learn. You will have a great opportunity to learn a variety of new IT skills and gain excellent experience in a healthcare setting, working as part of a close knit team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist with providing support to facilitate the function of the Path Links IT systems. The post holder will be expected to partake in the day-to-day operations in order to support the Path Links IT Team in the day-to-day administration of its clinical systems.The provision of robust IT services is a critical component supporting the delivery of 24/7 services to the health community of Lincolnshire.The post holder will be required to assist in the research, evaluation, design, implementation and support of current and future developments to include:- Trust Wide LIMS deployment- Cellular Pathology Digital Imaging - Software developments to support LEAN and Six Sigma practices- Network and web based applications- Discipline specific IT applications- Networked communication systemsThere will be a requirement to adapt flexibly to the needs of the service in response to Trust activity and workloads. Whilst primarily based on one site (Lincoln), inter-site travelling, using Trust Pool Cars, is expected on an as required basis, across all sites across Greater Lincolnshire. The post holder will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, seeking advice as required from the Pathology Medical/Scientific staff and the Path Links IT Team as appropriate, being guided by Standard Operating Procedures, protocols, appropriate materials and established performance criteria.
