The Talent Acquisition team is a unique award-winning team designed to attract candidates to work at the Trust using non-traditional recruitment methods. This involves pro-actively recruiting national and international candidates to our hard to fill vacancies and supporting them throughout their journey with us. As the Talent Acquisition Officer for Pastoral and Onboarding support, you will be tasked with ensuring that all candidates relocating to us have an outstanding end to end candidate experience and in doing so, we maintain our high standards being an employer of choice.

In providing pastoral care you will act as the primary point of contact to our national and international candidates both pre and post arrival, ensuring that their move to the area/UK runs seamlessly. You will be on hand to provide support and much needed guidance which includes securing suitable housing, integrating into the local community and supporting the families.

Success in this post is having the ability to go the extra mile in making our staff feel welcomed and supported during their transition to us and forming excellent working relationships with members of the wider teams. You will need to be empathetic, flexible and adapt easily to meet the needs of service.

Main duties of the job

  • Work directly with the Talent Acquisition Manager on specific onboarding and pastoral care recruitment projects
  • Work with the wider Recruitment and Talent teams to ensure outstanding customer service for the benefit of the candidate experience and to ensure the Trust is seen as an employer of choice
  • Will support with building relationships and networks internal to the Trust and to continually build innovative ways to improve the onboarding experience of new starters, such as helping managers design bespoke induction programmes
  • Meet with new candidates, pre and post arrival to build a strong rapport to build confidence and exhibit exceptional supportive communication skills.
  • Work closely with different organisations external to the Trust, building strong connections with the local community
  • Ensure all candidates are supported in their relocation to the local area and/or UK, inclusive of accommodation requirements, opening bank accounts, registration with dentists/GPs, supporting integration into the local community, introductions to places or worship and any other requirements of the candidate.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for new starters requiring pastoral and onboarding support, with support and guidance of wider team where needed.
  • Ensure all candidates are met with Kindness, Courage & Respect and promote inclusivity and a sense of belonging.
  • Accompany new candidates to appointments and meetings where required.
