Job summary

Our medical wards across our three hospital sites (Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole) span a wide range of specialities - caring for patients in over 470 beds, medical nursing offers something for everyone. Whether your passion is in cardiology, oncology, respiratory, or our acute assessment areas, we are confident you will thrive in our supportive and forward-thinking teams. Naturally, acute medicine is a fast-paced environment with a high turnover of patients in our wards with most being admitted as acute emergencies, meaning the nursing interventions you deliver will truly make the difference to our patients and their loved ones.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has come up for a dynamic staff nurse to join the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) at DPoW, This is a new area that opened up in October 2020. If its not an accident or an emergency then its a SDEC. We see medical, surgical and ENT patients within this unit. The current opening hours are 8 till 20:00, but will be extending to 22:00 7 days a week.

The unit is fast-paced, well-led and organized, making it a great place to learn. Our established nurses are supportive, friendly and possess a wide range of transferable extended skills. We work cohesively and there is no "I" in OUR team - we work alongside each other and together. Therefore we encourage both newly qualified and experienced nurses in applying to join our team.

Successful candidates will be well-supported and you will acquire a broad range of extended skills to compliment your passion for nursing. You will have access to a wealth of knowledge to help you develop your nursing career - ranging from consultants, specialist doctors and specialist nurses. We want to invest in YOU.
