Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing general administrative and secretarial support to the Health Records, Subject Access Request and General Medicine Departments. The post holder will maintain excellent communication skills with a range of different staff groups including clinical, administrative, management and external organisations to ensure that a seamless administrative/secretarial service is provided.

The post holder will maintain complete confidentiality of sensitive information relating to patients, other members of staff in line with Caldicott, Data Protection and GDPR.

The post holder will have an understanding of organisational, clinical and administrative systems and processes including administration and document control. In addition the post holder will have proven experience in a variety of functions including the arrangement of meetings, tracking and monitoring of actions and supporting in the delivery of the service provided within the department.

Main duties of the job

Maintain good communication skills both verbal and written, including telephone, face to face, written documents and e mail with the varied range of staff groups both internal and external to the organisation

Maintain excellent communication with a range of different staff groups including clinical, administrative, management and external organisations

Liaise with Administrative staff to ensure that a seamless administrative/secretarial service is provided

Develop a sound and effective working relationship with the Administration Support to General Medicine and the Health Records Library and staff within the Business Units and Directorates

Maintain complete confidentiality of sensitive information relating to patients, other members of staff in line with Caldicott and Data Protection

Liaising with counterpart at Diana Princess of Wales, ensuring all information is communicated across site to support service delivery.
