Job summary

Main duties of the job

Assists the Ward Manager/Team Leader in the continuing responsibility for the management of a Ward/Team. This includes the deployment of staff, equipment, supplies and other resources.

Carry continuing 24 hour responsibility for the Ward/Team in the absence of the Ward Manager/Team Leader.

Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care in a range of environments, without supervision.

Supports, supervises and teaches less experienced staff on the ward/team relevant clinical and non-clinical procedures and practices.

Works autonomously within the department/team within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional practice.
