Job overviewAn opportunity has arisen to join our Skin Unit/s as a Band 5 Staff Nurse. The successful candidate will be required to work within our unit's across both sites
The Skin Units are a dynamic and progressive service with a dedicated and friendly team. We provide a range of day care treatments, including phototherapy, patch testing, and topical treatments to patients with acute and chronic skin diseases as well as assisting in minor surgery. The service currently operates Monday to Friday with a potential for working weekends depending on service needs .
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to be supported to develop expertise within this specialty. The candidates need to demonstrate a keen interest in developing a career within dermatology/plastic surgery and have a proven track record of personal and professional development.
No experience is necessary for this role as you will be fully supported to develop your knowledge and expertise.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the jobo Support in Dermatology & plastic surgery clinics.o Complete routine patient observations i.e. blood pressures.o Assist in Minor operations suite.o Nurse led dressings clinics for both dermatology & Plastic Surgeryo Undertake clinical photos where appropriate.o Chaperoning patients as required.o Participate in department auditso Undertake a link nurse roleo Mentor, educate & support new staff as required.o Remain up to date in statutory & mandatory training.o Continual learning & development within the role.o Undertake phototherapy (UVB/PUVA) clinicso Undertake patch test clinics
